Adding to the auspiciousness of the Year of the Dragon, Chinatown is set to undergo a revitalization project worth 44 million Australian dollars, injecting new life into this iconic precinct and further enhancing the festival's charm. One of the festival's highlights is the eagerly anticipated dragon boat racing event at Cockle Bay, where approximately 3,000 paddlers will participate in this cherished traditional sport.
Designed to inspire younger generations, the festival's schedule is brimming with family-friendly activities. Pre-festival festivities began earlier in February, with events such as red envelope giveaways, lion dances in Hurstville, and the iconic Sydney Opera House illuminated in striking red.
